Inspectors General Report on Warrantless Wiretapping

pToday, the Inspectors General of five government agencies released the unclassified version of a a href=http://www.eff.org/files/unclassified_psp_report.pdfreport/a on the Bush Administration’s a href=http://www.eff.org/issues/nsa-spyingwarrantless domestic surveillance/a program. The report was required by the a href=http://www.eff.org/files/filenode/att/FISAINTRO_001_xml.pdfForeign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Amendments Act of 2008/a, which was signed into law one year ago today./p pThe IG report has been carefully scrubbed so that it reveals as little new information as possible about the illegal surveillance of ordinary Americans. Given the wide range of information a href=http://www.eff.org/pages/t-summary-key-news-reportsalready publicly known/a about the program, it is disappointing that today’s report is not more informative.
